Feedback
Barclay has a high eBay feedback rating. We do not claim they will
not repair your phone, but you are not getting the service
they advertise!
Remember, eBay has a 90 day limit on leaving feedback.
You only have 90 days to complain. Their keypad will make
it past 90 days of operation.
Even though Barclay Enterprises is not a BBB gold seal
member you can still complain to the BBB about false advertising and
warranty issues.

For
over a year... Barclay Enterprises illegally claimed to be FCC
authorized until the Better Business Bureau stepped in and forced
them to stop. Yet they still hold on to
this blatant lie however they can, proving they have no integrity. They forged federal documents
to back up their story and attacked other repair facilities.
"Don't be fooled by cheap copy-cats that are not FCC authorized to
repair your phones!" This continued long after these
claims were proven fake. We have no doubts they would still be
using these lies on unsuspecting customers to this day if not
forced to stop.

Barclay's so called "permanent" keypad is a
blatant copy of our old membrane keypad.
Not an improvement! Barclay spent
over a year viciously attacking our membrane keypad and our
lifetime warranty. They falsely claimed Panasonic fixed the keypad
issue and there was nothing wrong with the original keypad. They attacked our
well defined lifetime warranty and after we
change to a very clear 5 year warranty, ending the dispute, they
copy our old repair technique (claiming it as their own) and offer a their own undefined
lifetime warranty. Now they admit the
original keypad is flawed!
Direct Barclay Quote: "Beware
of anyone offering a "lifetime warranty" on a keypad!
It is a misleading promise that has
nothing to do with "lifetime", and it is intended to lure you in."
Their
membrane does not solve the
size problem! (See below) |
Proven!
|
Barclay Enterprises takes extra steps to hide
misleading statements. When you list an auction on eBay, the text
becomes a permanent record for about 12 months. Barclay now
changes misleading statements (such as "FCC Authorized") to
graphics while leaving other areas untouched. The only reason we
can think of to do this is because they can then change the
graphics (stored on their own server) any time they run into
problems. |
Fact!
Barclay continues to confuse customers with
false information about why the original keypads break. Their
"permanent" keypad still relies on the original defective keypad
to work and they need these lies to continue.
Barclay falsely claims the sticky oil
from the OEM keypad is really spittle. In our opinion,
any intelligent person with even the slightest knowledge of the
internal workings could not possibly believe this.
Barclay's termed "environmental gunk" that builds up in the keypad
is not spittle or food particles!
-
Cheaply designed keypads seep oil. This is a undeniable
FACT.
Engineering forum on the topic
-
The
sticky oil cannot be from food or spit! It is found in 100% of
these phones and is exactly the same in every single one. In
fact, as the keypads yellow from age, so does the oil.
-
Just
to eliminate any possible doubt, we crushed a few brand new
Panasonic keypads between paper and steel plates using a
machine press. Wouldn't you know it... spittle came out!
soaking the paper!! Amazing... those Japanese must be spitting
on the mold to allow easy removal of the final product. There
is no other possible explanation (say's Barclay)
-
The
rubber keypad forms a rubber gasket seal. Food and spittle
cannot get in. You can dunk these phones in Pepsi Cola and it
will not get inside the keypad.
-
Barclay reverently denied the other very obvious problem with
the original keypad for over a year. Now they admit they
knew the conductive contacts were too small in their own
advertisements.
-
Corrosion is from condensation not spit and is
found inside some phones but not under the rubber
keypad.
So, how did Barclay bust the myth? Obviously
not with tests or research... just plain Barclay bull. |

The keypad story
|
After a year of
bashing our membrane keypad and our lifetime
warranty, our competitor has blatantly copied both!
Then he claims it is better
than our new properly designed keypad that replaced
it!
We designed the first membrane
keypad for these phones over a year ago. At the time it
was the only improvement available for the original keypad
that still, to this day, has two major problems! Our
properly designed keypad (the first and only designed to
the specifications of the circuit board) replaced the
membrane repair. It is far superior.
Our properly designed keypad is
the only real solution to your keypad troubles!
We have been designing membrane keypads for over 10 years!
They just started....
But you don't have to take our word for it, the first to
create a membrane keypad for these phones.
Take HIS word for it!
Our competitor spent a year attacking
our membrane keypad and falsely claiming Panasonic fixed the
keypad problems. He's sold hundreds of
defective keypads, under false pretences, to unsuspecting
customers....
|
His Quote:
|
|
Our keypad is...
"Manufactured to the very best of
Panasonic's specifications, thus eliminating any
possible shortcomings of the original version.
Functions perfectly by
itself ... just as it should.
Doesn't
require the addition of any supplemental inserts /
membranes / tabs or other "fixes" that can permanently
damage your circuit board!"
Another of his quotes:
"Lifetime
warranties are always suspicious.... Beware of anyone
offering a "lifetime warranty" on a keypad!"
|
|
This is an example of
how membrane keypads work. |
Their
defective keypad with membrane |
Our keypad
built with the correct size
contacts |
 |
As you can see...
membranes replace the conductive contacts but do not make
them measurably larger. |
|
Membrane keypads
are cheap...
We made the first membrane keypad.
Why would we spend the time and money designing the only
real keypad for these phones if it wasn't better? |

copy and paste quotes from Barclay's web site and eBay auctions.

Panasonic or Barclay did not re-design the
keypad. These advertisements refer to the OEM keypad. |

Panasonic originally warranted your handset for one year. But
with our technical expertise and resources, we're able to
provide a TWO YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY on the brand new keypad we
install:
BARCLAY'S TWO YEAR EXTENDED
WARRANTY
We'll repair or
replace the defective keypad free of charge and
pay for shipping your handset back to you for two years from
the date of repair.
(Excludes customer abuse.)
Manufactured to
the very best of Panasonic's specifications, thus
eliminating any possible shortcomings of the original version.
|
|
"with
our technical expertise and resources, we're able to provide a TWO YEAR
EXTENDED WARRANTY"
The conductive carbon pills are too
small on the original keypads. The only way to fix this problem is to
increase the size of the conductive pills. No amount of knowledge or
experience can change this fact. Conductive paint or epoxy coating
cannot increase the size of the pill. No glue or adhesive will
permanently stick to the flexible rubber keypad. You cannot change the
size of the pill on the original keypad and they do not have anything
other than the original keypad.
"(Excludes customer abuse.)"
We have repaired many thousands of these phones and not one single
keypad has broken from abuse. We highly suspect Barclay includes
exclusions like "abuse" and "environmental gunk" to give themselves a
back door when your keypad breaks again because they KNOW this is going
to happen. They have been providing a "failure prevention guide"
that explains how the keypads break from
people eating and drinking while talking on the phone. This is
completely false! We have seen absolutely no signs of food,
drink or spittle in bad keypads. The oily substance that is found in
these keypads comes from the original keypad itself! It is NOT a water
based material and could not have come from the human mouth. The oil is
a by-product from the keypad manufacturing when rubber keypads are not
dried long enough in the baking process.
Follow this link for an engineering forum on the topic.
"Manufactured to the
very best of Panasonic's specifications, thus eliminating any
possible shortcomings of the original version. "
The shortcomings are obvious. The 4mm diameter
carbon pills are far too small. Barclay's keypads are the original and still have the 4mm
diameter pills. The part number printed on the keypads has not changed.
There is no reason to think these keypads have been improved or changed
in any way.
| Can't find Barclay's hidden
warranty exclusions? Here's help: |
|
If your handset ever fails --- even if it's
just one button --- send it to us for no-charge warranty
repair. As long as the warranty
hasn't been voided (dropped, liquid spill, buildup of environmental
"gunk"), we'll repair and return your
handset and we'll even pay for return
shipping! |
Barclay's Old eBay auctions
Barclay is now very careful about what he puts in
his auctions
Typically any suspicious text is placed in pictures so he can change it
any time.
There are still a few of his old auctions available to look at.
You can still see their illegal "FCC authorized
repair" claims.

FCC authorized Lie: (The BBB had to step in
an force them to stop this blazon lie)
We're also the country's ONLY independent cordless telephone
repair facility to be authorized by the FCC
Keypad Lie:
(Panasonic did not make a better keypad)
Every handset gets a BRAND NEW
KEYPAD manufactured to the best of Panasonics specifications,
thus eliminating anyh possible shortcomings of the original
version.
Two year warranty on keypad failure ---
covers ALL
buttons --- not just a select few! --- as well as the entire
membrane from splitting and cracking.
Naturally excludes failure due to user
damage, liquids & other foreign matter.
Nice exclusions! Barclay's defined "Other Foreign Matter" is found
in 100% of these keypads and the #1 cause for button failure.
Another FCC lie:
We are the only repair facility
on eBay authorized by the FCC
to work on your telephone equipment.
What does this mean, and why is it important to
you?

FCC authorized repair facility...
so you know your handset
will be repaired and reconditioned to the highest professional
level. Thousands of these models repaired spanning nearly two
decades.
We are the only firm on
Ebay authorized by the FCC to work on your telephone
equipment..
Question-
It says your FCC authorized, what does that mean, and is it
required? Answer: We were required to become
registered and authorized with the FCC to provide our services to
telephone companies such as GTE, Pacific Bell, Contel, and many
others. We still provide these services to many telephone
companies nationwide, but with the advent of the web, we could now
reach the public in a cost effective manner. This authorization is
not required to work on your phones, but necessary bcause of the
higher quality and process standards large telephone companies
require. By comparison, would you rather have an ASE Certified
mechanic work on your car, or someone with no stamp of approval
doing the same kind of work out of his home?
NO NEW TONE PAD FAILURES SINCE
WE BEGAN SERVICING THESE MODELS OVER TWO YEARS AGO!
90 day warranty.
Question: How do you
know about the failure rate over 2 years when you were just
offering a 90 day warranty back then? We've seen plenty of your
keypads fail in much LESS than 2 years.
|

Here is where they
almost become honest about their role with the FCC
This lasted about 2 weeks after we told them
we would report them to the FTC and FCC for false advertising.
This proves they knew what they were claiming was a complete lie. |
| We're
the only independent cordless telephone repair facility on eBay
to have ever been registered with the FCC for telephone
remanufacturing. Repair includes:
DIM / CRACKED OR DEAD LCD DISPLAY*, BROKEN
ANTENNA*
* Price doesn't include replacing unrepairable
LCD display, antenna
This is very interesting....
repair includes replacing Dim, cracked and dead LCD displays but
later excludes unrepairable LCDs?? Dim and cracked are always
unrepairable... What's even more interesting is in later auctions
they change this very text into graphics but leave the surrounding
area as text. Why? because it's a trick and all their tricks are
now graphics so they can permanently remove them from eBay at any time. |
|

| In very rare cases a unit may be deemed
unecomonimal for repair (1%). Customer will be notified of their

damage in detail, but this will be noted as "uneconomical for
repair" on your paypal refund. |

KEYPAD WARRANTY

OUR
EXTENDED TWO YEAR KEYPAD WARRANTY
Panasonic

technical expertise and resources, we're able to provide a TWO
YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY on the brand new keypad we install:

THE
COMPETITION'S "LIFETIME WARRANTY"
"Lifetime"
warranties are always suspicious, particularly when they
involve something that's bound to eventually wear out!
Beware of anyone offering a "lifetime
warranty" on a keypad!
It is a
misleading promise that has nothing to do with "lifetime", and
it is intended to lure you in. Read the fine print of their
keypad warranty... you'll be surprised to see what you're
really getting!
BOTTOM LINE:
You're better off dealing with a reputable company that's
upfront and will be around to honor their two year warranty
than someone who desperately attempts to gull you with a bogus
"lifetime warranty"! |

WHAT ABOUT THE KEYPAD

damage your circuit board!
|
|
| |
THE
COMPETITION'S ALLEGED "IMPROVED KEYPAD"
Remember, the same
people who represent their cobbled together "keypad membrane"
as an "improved" keypad are the same folks who are trying to
entice you with their mythical "lifetime" warranty!
For some
reason, they are compelled to shore up their keypads with
membranes, tabs and who knows what else. They try to present
this as an "improvement"... but they're really just turning
your handset in "Franken-Phone".
| |
|
Don't let anyone turn your Panasonic
cordless handset into
Franken-phone |
|
 |
|
with a patched together keypad
replacement or "repair"! |
| |
As everyone knows, Dr.
Frankenstein's monster was a pieced together mess. And
unfortunately, there are people calling themselves
professional telephone "refurbishers" who'll do the same
to your Panasonic KX-TGA cordless handset, particularly
when it comes to "repairing" or replacing your
keypad. Not only is the result inferior
performance... it can actually damage your handset
beyond any further repair!
If you're not sure what the keypad is or why it's
important, click here.

Why is the keypad so
important?
All the buttons on your handset
are part of a one-piece rubbery component --- the keypad. The
keypad rests on top of the circuit board --- a thin wafer
with delicate contacts matching the keypad. When you push a
particular button, the conductive layer on the bottom makes contact
with the surface of the circuit board to complete a circuit...
sending the proper signal to the handset's "brain" for dialing.
The keypad works in conjunction with the circuit board. Your
keypad will fail if the conductive layer of a button wears away
(e.g., the "1" button), or if gunk migrates between the keypad and
the circuit board. |
